By the assignment of His Beatitude Patriarch John X and at the invitation of His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, the Patriarchal Vicar, His Grace Bishop Romanos (Al-Hannat), along with His Grace Bishop Moussa (Al-Khoury), participated in a meeting with the UN Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, and his accompanying delegation at the headquarters of the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate.

During the meeting, the UN envoy briefed the attendees on the outcomes of his discussions with various sectors of Syrian society, as well as his engagements with the new leadership. He also reviewed the developments in the political process in the country since his last extensive meeting with representatives of all Christian communities in Syria, which was held at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate.

The discussion focused on efforts to promote peace and stability, as well as the role in supporting dialogue and national reconciliation initiatives.
