In light of recent developments in Syria and Lebanon, a consultative meeting was held with His Beatitude John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, and Their Eminences, the Most Reverend Metropolitans Elias Aude (Beirut), Elias Kfoury (Tyre and Sidon), Silouan Moussi (Mount Lebanon), Basilios Mansour (Akkar), Ephrem Kyriakos (Tripoli and Koura), and Antonios El Soury (Zahle and Baalbek) at the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology in Balamand.

The participants expressed their satisfaction with the completion of the presidential elections in Lebanon and the subsequent resumption of political life on its natural course. They extended their best wishes to the new administration, hoping it would succeed in rescuing the Lebanese people from their numerous crises and meeting their aspirations, as emphasized by His Beatitude in his statement following his meeting with President Joseph Aoun at the Presidential Palace. His Beatitude also briefed the attendees on current situation and conditions of the archdioceses in Syria, as well as the outcomes of his various meetings with international envoys and other key figures. The participants expressed their collective hope that the days ahead would bring goodness, peace, freedom, justice, unity, and prosperity to Syria.
