Patriarch John X receives the Chargé d'Affaires…

 

His Beatitude Patriarch John X received Mr. Michael Onmacht, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the European Union Mission to Syria, and the accompanying delegation, at the Patriarchate in Damascus.

The meeting included a discussion about the current situation in Syria. It stressed the importance of exerting diligent efforts to push the transitional process in the country towards what guarantees for all citizens true partnership in building the future of the country at all levels. Authentic values should be preserved at the basis of peace, love, and coexistence for all its components. It also includes contributing to lifting the sanctions on the Syrian people and assisting them with all the material aid necessary for a life in dignity.
