His Eminence, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Gregorios (Khoury)

Born in Lattakia, Syria in 1975, he obtained a BA in Informatics from Tishreen University, and a BA in Theology from St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology, Balamand in 2005. He was ordained a monk in the Patriarchal Monastery of St. George Al-Humaira in 2004. He was ordained a deacon in 2007, then a priest and archimandrite in 2008. He served in the Diocese of Europe and in the Patriarchate in Damascus. He was elected an auxiliary bishop in 2014 with the title of Bishop of the Emirates, and was appointed Patriarchal Vicar in the United Arab Emirates. He was elected Secretary of the Holy Synod in October 2021, and elected Metropolitan in 2023.
